My trip to Wales

Our class went to Llangollen in Wales to take part in an international competition called World Youth Skills Challenge. We were in Wales for a week and met a lot of people from different countries.

I brought back some things from Wales that still bring back happy memories from this wonderful experience. One of them is a little cuddly toy. It is a red dragon. The dragon is on the welsh flag and it is a symbol of the country. When I met my host friend for the first time she gave me it as a welcome present. It still evokes me happy memories when I see it.

I’m still in contact with Bethan, my host friend. She came to my house last year with another girl from Wales called Molly. We had fun together, we went to Seville and I showed them the main monuments. We did many activities as bowling, going to the swimming pool, shopping… I will never forget those seven days.

Another object I took from Wales is a medal. The medal has the colors of the flag of Wales. And I received it as a prize when we won the theatre competition performing the house of Bernarda Alba (In English), The school gave all the people in the play the gold medal.

I will never forget this trip because I’ve met a lot of people from different countries and I’ve learnt different ways of life also I spent a fantastic time there!

Cheating

In the bilingual group there are many experts cheaters, they have been getting better with the years and they know a lot of tecniques to cheat without getting caught.

I can tell tons of anecdotes. Some of them are funny, another ones are full of nerves. I know about people who has used curious objects to copy. For example, headphones. They record they answer and they listen to it while they are doing the exam. Another curious one is that someone from another group sends them the answer by mobile phone.

In my opinion cheating is a bad thing because in the end you are just lying to yourself. If you always cheat you will never learn.

Classmates and friends

When I started in the bilingual group I knew many people from my primary school. The most part of them were just classmates but many of them have become friends. That has happened with two of my best friends: Ana and Elena.

I met Elena just the summer before start highschool. We became friends really fast because we have a lot of things in common. She is a lovely girl, you can trust her because she listen to your problems and help you always she can.

I met Ana in primary school, we got well from the very begining but it was in high school where we became best friends. I can speak with her hours and hours on the phone and we always have fun together.

I'm really happy to have those girls in my life because both of them are really nice.

The stink bomb ( anecdote with our art teacher)

I will never forget the anecdote we lived  in our second year of high school with our art teacher, Antonio Gosálvez.

I remember it was the last teaching period and we had an art lesson. We were all in class working and suddenly it started to smell really bad. At first nobody knew what had happened and neither where the bad smell came from.

The teacher realized that somebody had thrown a stink bomb in class. He was very angry. At first he gave us the opportunity to confess but nobody said anything so he punished the whole class.

During the next week we went in small groups to talk with the principal teacher, we were all scared. Finally the principal teacher knew the truth he told us what had happened and everything was solved. I will never forget this experience!

My earliest memory

I don`t know exactly which is my first memory of the bilingual group. Although I have a lot because we have been many years together.

I remember as If it had not spent any time all the projects we have done together. The Romeo and Juliet performance and also the project we did with image and sound people. We have done halloween and christmas activities and two exchanges one with Cambridge and the other one with Wales. I have learnt a lot in both trips. And I have met people whom I still keep in touch. In fact my welsh exchange came to my house last summer.

I remember the first day I saw my bilingual class. I knew many people from my primary school. That day I was very excited because It was my first day of high school. I will never forget that day!

P.S. I LOVE YOU

SUMMERY
Holly and Gerry have known each other since childhood.  And they get married after some years. They can’t live without each other. Unfortunately Gerry dies.  Holly gets depressed.  Some letters written by Gerry helps her to go on living without him.
CONNECTOR
I can identify myself with Holly because at this moment of my life the most important things for me are my family and my friends. I can’t imagine my life without them. If one of them were missing I think I couldn’t go on living.
IMPORTANT PART OF THE TEXT
My darling Holly,
I don’t know where you are or when exactly you are reading this. I just hope that my letter has found you safe and healthy. You whispered to me not long ago that you couldn’t go on alone. You can, Holly.
You are strong and brave and you can get through this. We shared some beautiful times together and you made my life…you made my life. I have no regrets.
But I am just a chapter in your life- there will be many more. Remember our wonderful memories, but please don’t be afraid to make some more.
Love for ever, Gerry.
I have chosen one of the letters that I like most in which Gerry invites Holly to go on with her life. He tells her that he has been a chapter in her life but there will be many more. It seems to me very romantic that a dear person helps you to go on living.
CECILIA AHERN
She is from Dublin and she has published many novels and short stories. She published in 2004 her  first book called:  P.S I love you. I think it is her best book because she makes you feel like if you were inside the story. Her books are written with very informal and easy vocabulary. And when you are reading them you would like to be one of the characters. She uses to write a mixture of romantic and sad novels. She writes in a special way  that transmits you a lot of feelings. I use to recommend this book because it is very easy to understand and it is a very beautiful love story.

Dear Italy:

Dear Italy:

I have had a great time with you. I must confess that I fell in love with you the first time we met.

I’m sure I will never forget you. I remember the beauty of Venice. Walking in your narrow streets was like walking in a dream. I don’t think any other city in Italy is as romantic as Venice. Another thing I like very much is your delicious food. Each corner has a special smell which reminds me of the dishes my granny prepared for me when I was a little girl.

I would really like to meet you again in future. I think you will be part of my live forever. I have never had this feeling before. Believe me when I say that I’m looking forward to visiting you as soon as possible.
